Conduct unbecoming

March 4, 2008

At this point it’s old news in the blogosphere, but enough terrible things cannot be said about this video – allegedly of a Marine throwing a puppy off a cliff.

Uhm. Holy shit.

If this is true, and even if it’s a hoax, it’s deplorable, disgusting and despicable.
Alliteration aside (ha!), why is it that  (let’s face it: heterosexual) males feel the need to assert their (I don’t know) dominance/masculinity/power/penis size by abusing creatures/people who are comparatively powerless?? What does this prove? What does this accomplish? Who does this impress?

If it’s real, the people responsible deserve to be tossed off cliffs themselves, by people far more powerful than them. They deserve to die like that puppy (allegedly) did.

If it’s fake, they’ve only accomplished making themselves officially the most repulsive people in the world at the moment, to be followed by this scandal forever as soon as their identities come to light.

Never. Vacation. In. Florida.

It’s cheap and lazy to simply link to another blog post, but to be honest after reading thing story it makes me so mad that I want to throw up and I can’t be bothered writing anything clever.

Words cannot describe how terrible THIS is.

Why can’t Creative™ go faster?

February 19, 2008

This was put to me this afternoon, when faced with a crushing timeline on a big project. Not, of course, that my daily toil involves anything other than crushing timelines, but still, it sets the stage.

Person A needs time to review it. Regualatory Board B needs to approve it too. Person C needs to proof it in English and French, and Production Guy D needs it all by end of day otherwise he can’t guarantee disking it in time.

So what’s the solution? CREATIVE CAN GO FASTER!

Which leads me to telling Persons X and Y that if we don’t get the time we need, that I can’t guarantee it won’t be a giant piece of shit. Try selling that to Person A.

Yes, I realize that this is just a pointless rant, but it feels good to let it out. Kind of like making sweet sweet love to your genetic clone (and then killing him).
